What are the Kindergarten Fees?
The Governing Council sets the fee. For 2022 fees are $100 per term.
Payment can be made by cash, cheque or direct debit, in full or in monthly instalments as well as through Centrepay.
What do children wear to Kindy?
Children need to wear weather-appropriate clothing which will protect them from the sun in summer, and keep them warm in winter. Clothing should be suitable for climbing, running and getting dirty. Shoes must be also comfortable for climbing and running. Thongs are not suitable.
Hats must be worn if the UV index is 3 or over. Sunglasses may be worn. Sunscreen is provided, however children with allergies may bring specific sunscreen products from home.
What food do children need?
Due to high levels of allergies in the population we ask that no peanut products be sent to kindy.
Will you administer medication?
It is the responsibility of parents/carers to provide accurate, up-to-date, and relevant information for staff regarding student’s routine and emergency health care needs. Any child with a health/medical condition will be required to have a current medical action plan, medication agreement completed by a doctor, safety and risk management plan, health support agreement completed by director and family prior to the child commencing kindergarten.

The Elizabeth East Kindergarten will not administer any medication to children except when directly prescribed and requested by the child’s doctor (As per medication agreement):

The medication supplied must be in the original packaging with the prescribing doctor’s sticker attached. Medication must also be within date. (Out of date medications will not be administered)

Two staff members will be responsible for checking and administering the medication, and completing the medication log kept under the individual child’s name in the first aid folder.

How does school enrolment happen?

What age can my child start kindy?
Children may start kindy when they turn four before 30th April in their kindy year.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children can begin Kindergarten at 3 yrs of age.
Are there places for younger children?
How will the kindy provide for children with special needs, e.g. disorders/speech/ language/behaviour?
DfE support services provide support for the children within the centre through programs which are based on children’s needs. EEK staff also work in collaboration with outside organisations to further support children with special needs.
How many terms does a child spend at kindy?
How many days per week is my child able to come to kindy?
4 year olds are eligible to attend 15 hours per week. This usually amounts to two and a half days. The day runs from 815am – 315pm.
Can my child stay after hours?
Can parents volunteer at the kindy?
Does my child need to be toilet trained?
Who can pick up my child from kindy?
What about custody issues?
What provisions are there for cyber safety at the kindy?
EEK follows DfE cyber policy. Parent consent must be obtained for staff to take and or publish photographs of children.
